GetFileSense ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our desktop application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully.

1.1 Information You Provide

Account Information: When you register for a Pro subscription, we collect your email address and payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store raw card data).
Support Communications: If you contact us for support, we collect your name, email, and the contents of your message.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: We may collect anonymized, aggregated telemetry about feature usage (e.g., number of scans initiated) to improve the product. No file names, file contents, or folder paths are transmitted.
Authentication Tokens: A secure token is stored locally on your device to keep you signed in. It is not shared with third parties.
Log Data: Our backend servers may log your IP address, browser type, and request timestamps for security and debugging purposes. These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days.

1.3 What We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store the contents of your files, file names, folder names, or any personal data contained in your files.
All duplicate detection and local hashing occurs entirely on your device.

3. Sharing of Information

Stripe: For secure payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
Render / Cloud Hosting Providers: Our backend infrastructure. Providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
Legal Authorities: If required by applicable law, regulation, or valid legal process.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption in transit and encrypted storage at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
